*Join for a part or everything! Note your timing on RSVP. All levels welcome - we adapt for first timers & experienced dancers! No partner needed.
Fusion is an approach to improvised partner dance that invites a meeting of all dance styles, led by our connection with our partner & the music! No set steps. Finding our language in the moment. We'll typically dance to modern music. Welcoming inspiration from Blues, Swing, Tango, Zouk, Kizomba, West Coast, Contemporary, Contact Improvisation, and more. More context & resources below.

Sliding scale: $10-$60 (but no one turned away for a lack of funds!)
Main studio space is for barefoot, socks, or very soft dance shoes only.
Regular dance shoes are ok in overflow space. Rest, snack, practice 1:1!

Guest teacher: Simon
Simon brings over 12 years of experience in fusion, blues, and swing dance, with instruction rooted in connection over choreography. Originally from New York, he grew up immersed in theater and movement, performing in several Broadway productions before turning his toes toward partner dance.
His approach to fusion blends precision with play, teaching the core mechanics of partner communication while giving dancers the range to express themselves to anything from Sinatra to Billie Eilish. With a deep appreciation for blues aesthetics and a love for contemporary textures, Simon’s instruction focuses on clarity, responsiveness, and the subtleties of leading and following with intention. Now based in Las Vegas, he continues to teach and DJ with a simple goal: make social dance feel like a ride--organic, exhilarating, and visually impressive without looking like you're trying too hard.
Host & co-teacher: Angela
Angela is curious about everything embodiment and improvisation. She guides embodiment in connection with self, each other, community, and nature. In her facilitation, Angela creates spaces for discovery, to be permitted and supported, to build awareness and choice, to be playful and reverent, to move at the pace of feeling, to be with what is emerging, to go into the unknown together. She is committed to the learning and practice of what she holds dear.
Angela facilitates Contact Beyond Contact, Contact Improvisation, Yoga, Qi Gong, as well as Fusion and Microfusion. Her dances are Tango, Zouk, Blues, West Coast Swing. She loves that partnering can often be an immediate and thorough kind of 'understanding.' She is influenced by diverse forms, including Authentic Movement, Butoh, Contemporary Dance, Waving, Tai Chi, Taoist Philosophy, Yoga, The Embodied Heart, Liberato Dance, Aquastretch, Underbelly, Action Theater, ensemble work, grappling, and music improvisation.
